She was born in 1857 and christened on 19 Jul 1857 in Strensall, North Yorkshire. Her father was still a labourer when she was born.

She married James Mawe; he was born 1850; died 20 Jul 1916 in Elland.

She was believed to have had 13 children in all and have lived in York and Elland, near Halifax

One daughters address was 23 Victoria Avenue, Elland, nr Halifax.
